How we handle personal information

Last updated 27 September 2026

Who we are

This policy explains how Troubridge Capital Pty Ltd (Troubridge, we, us) collects, uses, holds, and discloses personal information. We are an equity partners and corporate advisory firm serving established private companies across Australia and New Zealand, and we handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, for individuals in New Zealand, the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).

What we collect

We collect personal information that you give us directly and that we need to respond to you and, where an engagement follows, to provide our services. This may include:

  • Your name, company, role, email address, and phone number when you submit the enquiry form on this website or contact us by email.
  • The contents of your enquiry and later correspondence, which may include information about your business, its financial position, and your objectives.
  • Information you provide during an advisory engagement or equity partnership, including information about a business's owners, directors, and key personnel.
  • Information collected automatically when you visit this website, described below.

Website and technical information

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like most web hosts, Netlify records standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. We use this information only to operate the site and keep it secure. This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google when a page loads. Links to LinkedIn take you to a third-party site with its own privacy policy.

How we use personal information

We use personal information to respond to your enquiry, to assess whether we can help and whether a partnership or engagement is a fit, to provide our services, to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including those that apply to us as a corporate authorised representative of an Australian financial services licensee, and to maintain our own records. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for direct marketing without your consent.

Who we disclose it to

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Our licensee, Avenir Pty Ltd, where required for compliance monitoring and record keeping.
  • Professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, and tax advisers, engaged on a matter.
  • Counterparties to a transaction, such as prospective buyers, investors, or financiers, but only with your agreement and usually under a confidentiality agreement.
  • Service providers who help us operate, including website hosting, email, and document storage providers.
  • Regulators, courts, or other bodies where the law requires it.

Some of our service providers store data outside Australia and New Zealand, including in the United States. Where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information in a way that is consistent with this policy.

Confidential business information

Owners often share sensitive commercial information with us before any engagement is agreed. We treat all such information as confidential from the first conversation, whether or not it is personal information, and we are happy to sign a confidentiality agreement before receiving detailed material.

Storage and security

We store personal information in secure cloud systems protected by access controls and encryption in transit, and we limit access to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes above and to meet our record-keeping obligations, and we then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. Write to us at info@troubridge.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and, in most cases, without charge. If we decline a request we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us at the address above and we will investigate and respond in writing, normally within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or, in New Zealand, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
